Bleach Soul Carnival is a 2D side-scrolling platform game which begins with Ichigo meeting Rukia and the two travel together to strike down Hollows and their bosses. A short training sequence starts the game off where Ichigo's special attacks are demonstrated. For example, to perform special attacks that use spirit power, hold the D-pad up or down and press the "Square" button. For low-level Hollows, conventional sword slashes are enough to destroy them but higher-level Hollows take a lot more damage before they're dispatched. In the first stage, Rukia serves as a supporting character who may be called upon to attack Hollows or bosses. When the second stage starts, players may choose to play as Ichigo or Rukia. At the conclusion of the second stage, you can gain Uryû Ishida as a playable character if you're able to beat him in a one-on-one bout.
